Weekly Notes 2026.08
Another short entry this week; keeping busy at work, and unfortunately not spending a ton of time on personal projects.

Work
- I mentioned last week that I was exploring LLM usage at work; this week I spent a decent amount of time looking at how to incorporate it into my daily workflow to make things like meeting prep, pulling tasks out of meeting notes, etc easier. I got to a workflow I’m fairly happy with, though I’ll still be tweaking it for the foreseeable future.
- I also made some progress on a utility app that I’ve been wanting for a while, but never had time to write myself. It turns out (unsurprisingly, I guess) that Claude Code is capable of doing most of the heavy lifting, as long as I can accurately describe what I want. Writing accurate and well-structured prompts continues to be an area I’m learning…
Personal
- My LLM experiments for work consumed a lot of my personal time, though I’ve also been looking at how to use what I’ve learned in my personal life.
Notable
- Wednesday night was Ash Wednesday, which started weekly Lenten Services.
Potpourri
- I ran across a fun tidbit this week: when Gmail first entered public beta, it ran on 300 Pentium computers nobody at Google wanted. 🤯
